Small hack used to disable usb ports on windows pc via registry
Intro
With this trick, you can disale access to USB ports on your windows system to prevent people stealing data without permission or spreading viruses on your pc. It is fair to mention that it is possible through livecd/liveusb.
Next Level
- Type Win Button or click on Start Menu
- Type REGEDIT. With mouse give a right click on it and Run as administrator
- Navigate to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CURRENTCONTROLSET\SERVICES\USBTOR"
- In the work area, double click on Start
- In the value box, enter 4
- Close Registry Editor, refresh desktop and try any working usb pendrive you have :)
- In case you need to re-enable access to usb ports, enter value 3
